The Game Just Changed: ABR's Alun Davies Gets Hands-On with the QJMOTOR SRT 900 Twins at Motorcycle Live 2025! ?

The buzz at Motorcycle Live 2025 is almost deafening, but this year, a new sound is cutting through the established roar: the powerful, confident thump of QJMOTOR's new middleweight adventurers. This year, the QJMOTOR stand, with its new SRT 900 S and SRT 900 SX models, was an unmissable stop.

Redefining 'Value' and 'Spec'

It’s fair to say that the Chinese manufacturers are no longer playing catch-up; they’re setting the pace, especially when it comes to feature-per-pound value. The two new 900cc twins from QJMOTOR are perfect examples of this shift.

We’re talking about a pair of bikes built around a strong 904cc parallel twin engine, churning out 95 hp and a solid 90 Nm of torque. This is a punchy, useable motor that, thanks to its 270° firing order, delivers a rich, characterful sound that rivals the European twins. Both bikes are packed with premium gear that would be costly optional extras on other marques, including a quickshifter (up and down), heated grips, heated seats, and Bluetooth connectivity for the full-colour TFT dash.

The Road Warrior: SRT 900 S

The SRT 900 S, starting at a remarkably keen $\textsterling7,499}$ (plus OTR), is the dedicated road touring machine.

  • Wheels: It sits on 17-inch cast aluminium wheels both front and rear, signalling its priority for tarmac stability and precise handling.

  • Running Gear: It boasts high-quality componentry like Marzocchi adjustable USD forks and Brembo radial calipers up front. These aren't budget bits; they're premium names ensuring great braking and road feel.

  • Range: With a massive 24-litre fuel tank, this bike is built for marathon rides, easily making it a serious contender for cross-continental touring without constant fuel stops.

The Adventure Specialist: SRT 900 SX

The SRT 900 SX, priced at $\textsterling7,699}$ (plus OTR), is the one that really caught my eye for the ABR Festival's Adventure Trail.

  • Wheel Setup: It gets the proper adventure treatment with tubeless spoked wheels—a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear—allowing for better performance and tyre choice on rough terrain.

  • Essential Kit: The 'SX' version goes straight into Adventure mode by including a three-piece hard luggage system as standard. That's a huge saving and a brilliant move for riders who want to buy a bike and head straight out on a trip.

  • Off-Road Capability: A 210mm ground clearance and robust features like tubular steel crash bars and heavy-duty handguards mean it’s ready to tackle the kind of green-laning and light off-roading our community loves. The switchable ABS and Traction Control are also key for confident riding on variable surfaces.

This is a phenomenal amount of bike for the money. QJMOTOR is clearly serious about disrupting the adventure market, offering spec levels that make their European and Japanese rivals look nervously over their shoulders.

There is a feeling of seeing plenty of these new SRT 900's at the next ABR Festival 2026, getting put through their paces on the trails and proving that you don’t need to spend ten grand or more to get a truly capable, well-specced adventure machine. An exciting new chapter is definitely unfolding!
